Precious metal of the PMG (platinum-metal-group) is used in many industrial applications. One industry is the glass fiber industry where bushings are made out of platinum-rhodium alloys. Precious metal is the best choice here because liquid glass is very aggressive and may lead to the destruction of other alloys quickly.

PMG alloys have a high melting temperature (sometimes above 2000 °C) und should stay pure.
